Let's Go!'s Mission

Let’s Go! is a community-based initiative to promote healthy lifestyle choices for children, youth and families in 12 Greater Portland communities. Our goal is to increase physical activity and healthy eating for children and youth - from birth to 18. Let’s Go!’s Founding Partners are Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine, Hannaford Bros. Co., MaineHealth, Maine Medical Center, TD Bank, Unum and United Way of Greater Portland, a unique partnership of Maine’s leading health, business and community-based organizations. Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation is a Platinum Supporter, as a part of their Growing Up Healthy Initiative. This message is also funded in part by the Mattina R. Proctor Foundation and The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center.

Let’s Go! is involved in 12 Greater Portland communities - Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Gorham, Falmouth, Freeport, North Yarmouth, Portland, Scarborough, South Portland, Westbrook, Windham and Yarmouth. In each of these communities, Let’s Go! partners with others to work across six sectors to increase physical activity and healthy eating.  Currently there are other sites also using Let's Go! materials and the Let's Go! model in other communities in Maine.  For more information on Let's Go! outside of the twelve Greater Portland communities, click here.  The Let’s Go! intervention model            is below.
