Youth Advisory Committee
Let’s Go! is looking for youth who bring leadership skills to the initiative and can provide some key direction and input as the program is developed and rolled out in the 12 communities. Youth interested in participating in the Youth Advisory Committee should have an interest in physical activity and the healthy lifestyle of their peers and their community.
In addition, a Youth Advisory Committee Members should demonstrate:
- Leadership potential and developed/developing peer social skills in order to convey the initiative’s message and be considerate of other’s input and relay this input effectively to the Leadership Committee
- Availability after school or evenings for meetings
- Ability to work with adults
- Determination, the ability to make a commitment and follow through
Position Title: Youth Advisory Committee Member
Time Commitment: 1.5 hour meetings, held monthly throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help frame specific Let’s Go! interventions
- Work under the direction of the Leadership Committee and Founding Partners Committee
- Provide input with their unique perspective to the Let’s Go! initiative
- Promote awareness within their school community of the Let’s Go! initiative
