The Portland Pirates team and Let’s Go! would like to present an educational day of hockey full of fun and interactive learning activities that promote health and well-being for the students of Maine on Feb 2nd 2010. Guiding Stars, Let's Go! and Healthy Maine Partnerships Celebrate Wellness in Windham
June 20 , 2009

Hannaford’s Guiding Stars and Let’s Go! joined forces with Healthy Maine Partnerships to promote healthy choices as part of Windham, Maine’s Summerfest activities on Saturday, June 20th.  Summerfest is an annual community-wide event designed to celebrate summer and welcome residents and visitors alike to Windham and the Sebago Lakes region.  Several thousand folks turned out for a huge parade, day-long festivities with community booths, games and activities for kids, music, lots of food and a terrific fireworks show.  Click here to learn more and view great photos.

Windham Child Care Conference March 28, 2009

Let's Go! was a participating vendor at this info-packed conference held at Windham High School on Saturday, March 28th, from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. We were hoping to gather more momentum for our Let's Go! 5-2-1-0 Goes to Child Care Pilot through spreading the word to the over 300 child care providers in Maine and were very pleased with the feedback. The theme of this year's conference was "Journey Through The Pages of Childhood," and our Down to the Sea With Mr. Magee StoryWalk was set up for child care providers to check out! Let's Go! Goes Ice Fishing with Kids in Windham February 20, 2009

The Windham Let’s Go! Community Team joined up with the Sebago Lakes Rotary “Hooked on Fishing” kids’ ice-fishing derby held on Thomas Pond in Raymond on Friday, February 20th 2009. The kids’ derby is a very popular event in which over 500 kids and their parents register and learn to ice fish on Thomas Pond, which is heavily stocked with fish for this event. The Let’s Go! team seized the opportunity to have some fun, promote their program and encourage kids to ‘Eat Right, Be Active, and Get Healthy!’ Click here for more information and here for some great photos.

Portland WinteRush 2009 February 6-14, 2009

Winterfit, a nonprofit organization committed to helping our children develop lifelong habits of health, education, and physical fitness through outdoor winter activity, pulled together a great series of events, called it WinteRush 2009 and provided folks with activities meant to help them get out and get active during the freezing days of February.  Check out photos from the event here.

Governor's Conference on Youth and the Natural World October 2, 2008

Governor Baldacci is hosting the conference at the Augusta Civic Center. All are invited to attend. The conference is focusing on the good health and sense of wonder that comes from getting outside. Let's Go! So Po! September 27 , 2008

Let’s Go! So Po! is a community wide Health and Wellness initiative being adopted by the South Portland Community and School Department. To energize families and folks, Let’s Go! SoPo! is hosting a community kick-off where South Portland schools and Community members will come together for day of family fun on Saturday, September 27. This event will take place at Wainwright Field and begin with a Family Fun walk at 9:00am. There will also be many activities promoting nutrition and physical activity hosted by area schools, from 11:00-1:00pm at the field.
