2008-2009 Mini-Grants Grant Awardee
Town of Falmouth: Trail

The Let’s Go! mini grant funds provided to the Falmouth Conservation Corps were key in enabling their work and will have a long lasting impact as their volunteers continue to build and maintain trails in their community.
Since the initial grant award, 42 Falmouth Conservation Corps volunteers have donated 532 hours of services to the town in support of its open space protection initiative. That work included building more than six miles of hiking/biking trails, building information kiosks on two protected properties, erecting signage on four properties and building and erecting 18 wood duck nesting boxes along the Piscataqua and Presumpscot Rivers.
The work that started with this grant will be sustained for many years and result in a substantial trail network through several thousand acres of town and Falmouth Land Trust. Best of all, these trails will provide an ongoing opportunity for area residents to get out, get active and stay fit.
