Freeport High School has a unique program for its students called “WOWW”.  “WOWW” stands for “We Organize Wellness Wednesdays.”  A group of committed students meets once weekly to plan wellness events for their peers.  Utilizing the Let’s Go! mini grant, they began the year with an event called “What’s for Breakfast?”  Healthy breakfast foods were presented including breakfast cookies and smoothies to sample.  A nutritionist from Hannaford presented and talked about the importance of eating breakfast.  Twenty-five students and four staff attended – all during their free period!  Freeport High also plans to purchase Dance Dance Revolution as a way for students to be active inside during long Maine winters.
